sick and tired

We had a rough night around here. The little one didn't want to sleep from 2 am to 5 am. At least that is the time I think she fell alseep in my arms. I was so tempted to just fall asleep in the rocking chair but decided we would both get better sleep in our beds. I was easily reminded of her younger years and getting up at night.
We all woke up with a cold today and pretty much didn't do anything productive. Just tried to get a nap in and rest up. We read books pretty much all day.

cleaning day

Today is cleaning day around here. I seem to get one thing crossed off my list and see more that needs cleaned. Madison is helping me mop the floor which is so cute. She doesn't stop with the floor she seems to mop the walls too....
We are getting back into our routine from a week of visiting family. Madison is sleeping better. It seems that the more sleep she gets the better she behaves. This past week I felt like I was one step behind her. She was into everything she knows she shouldn't be into. VCR's, refrigerator, fireplace. Also climbing on everything. She has now learned to climb on our bed, our dresser drawers and anything else she can get her little feet up on. Busy busy little girl. We went to a playgroup yesterday and enjoyed ourselves very much. She was good the whole time. She didn't even try to kiss anyone. (we often go to the mall playland and she will want to make friends and try to kiss and hug everyone) At least she doesn't try to hit anyone.


I couldn't catch her this morning to put her day clothes on so we enjoyed running around and playing. Besides it was a cleaning day after all...
Thanks grandma and grandpa for this reading chair. She is starting to use it.
Shopping for christmas toys... This little people catalog that came in the mail has sure seen better days. She will look for a hour at this. She often makes sure either her dad or I are right there laying on the ground with her looking at it.

We have started decorating for christmas and really getting into the spirit of things. We hope for a white christmas this year.

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa

We are having a great visit with Grandma and Grandpa this Thanksgiving. Madison is enjoying playing with her cousins. She had her first fall that drew blood, she hit her head on the wall somehow and her bottom front teeth cut her lip. She's doing fine now and enjoying all the attention from famiy. The weather is nice out today. We enjoyed walking to a nearby park to play outside. Will bring pictures soon.

We went to our first birthday party. The first of many more to come... We all had a good time at Chucky Cheese.

This little girl comes running everytime I start the mixer. She is such a great helper. Today we made a rum cake for our upcoming trip. I am hoping at least some of it makes it to our family so they can try it. I am worried as I have made it two days before we leave.

Time well spent today...

One wet floor = 10 minutes cleaning up the floor..

One dish cleaned over and over = 10 minutes spent washing the rest of the dishes...

my newest project...

My newest project has been trying to understand this little sewing machine of mine. I recently found a bargin with some fabric and thought I would try making curtain. I was able to make simple curtains before but this time I wanted to try something new. I have to say with the help of my husbands math skills, I seemed to pull it together. I have to say they turned out pretty good. I ended up making this set of curtains, 4 valances for the downstairs basement, 2 small pillows and one large pillow. All for 42 dollars! (and a little hard work during nap times) I am ready now for my next project. It is hard to see here but I put pleats at the top. Watch out Martha here I come!!

zoo time again...

We went to the zoo again. It was nice. Hardly anyone there. We got to see the giraffe again and feed it. We saw two lions fight which was kinda scary. We saw a wallaroo up close. We even got to pet it. It seems to like the stroller. Each time we go to the zoo we seem to see new exciting things. We really enjoyed ourselves.

sleep does wonders...

It is amazing what a little sleep can do to a little one. She is such a different little girl than she was last night. Wow! We had fun all day long. Playing, singing, dancing, and chasing each other.
