zoo time yesterday

We went to the zoo yesterday. This is her good friend that was able to go with us. We had a wonderful time but who doesn't have a good time at the zoo.
The animals were active and it wasn't crowded. It was a GREAT day! We even enjoyed cotton-candy!
we are looking forward to the lions coming this fall they are redoing their home as well as the monkeys.

going again...

okay...so I have been slacking...I haven't posted for a while. I have good reason. We will be expecting a new little one in July. I had a rough first trimester and now feeling much better. I was just so sick and tired. I am now ready to start my nesting phase and clean like there is no tomorrow. I am now going on 13 weeks...feeling good!

Well..tonight my little girl had her first boy friend over for supper. Already her dad and I are worried. This little boy was standing at the door when her dad got home. He ended up staying for supper. I really don't think I am ready for this.

We are also starting to look at schools...ugh...definitely not ready for this!

We went out to the zoo today. Had a GREAT time. It was like having the zoo all to ourselves!

We are doing better than last night. We had some high temps, but today seems to be better.

We have walking pneumonia...
My sweet little girl is sick. I never like seeing them sick. Going to snuggle up and watch movies together.

Her voice is on "vacation". She woke up with a whisper. It must be a virus running its course. We are staying around the house getting our rest and trying to get over this as fast as it came. We have watched TOO much scooby doo because she said to me tonight. "JINKIES" (it is something Velma says off of scooby doo)

We enjoyed going to the children's museum this past week. It is her FAVORITE place to go to. Every time I ask her what we should do today she replies "Let's go to the children's museum!"

She picked out her own clothes and was dresses for the ball! She had so much fun. She played mostly on the theater stage singing and dancing.

Wildlife Refuge

Today was cleaning day but I just couldn't get myself to clean anything. Instead we played and relaxed around the house. Cleaning will be there tomorrow. We went out to the near wildlife refuge. Here are some pictures from a previous visit.

scooby snacks

Since I am trying to be good and not bake anything sweet, we made Scooby snacks yesturday. :) We had a lot of fun doing this and Sydney was really happy.

Belmont Firehouse

It has been a great day and it isn't even over yet. We went out to Belmont Firehouse today. Madison got to slide down a firepole and ride in a firetruck. We learned all about fire safety. We then went shopping and now we are home awaiting for our babysitter so we can go out and enjoy an evening out just the two of us. We have such wonderful friends that are coming over to watch our little one. We are so blessed to have such good friends.

We went to storytime today. We have a great time each time we go. I get to head out tonight to go to a party. I am so looking for some time out to myself. It seems to make me a better mom. At least that sounds good...

Really? Dental Floss?

OKAY...she is totally flossed inside and out now. Today she discovered she could swallow DENTAL FLOSS...Ahhh...what is a mom to do? Yes, she did...it wasn't a long piece so I am not worried but really dental floss? They have them in yummy flavors now I don't blame her.

After that little thing this morning we headed out to the children's museum. It was great. We always have a good time there. I am so glad to have a membership it has truly paid for itself.

We had a good Halloween. I have been feeling a little sick and it has definately hit me now. Her dad took her out trick or treating as I stayed behind and visited with our neighbors as they had a table out with hot chocolate, coffee and water. We now have LOTS of candy in this house. She did good. She had a ball. She LOVES scooby-doo and the gang so of course she dressed up as Daphne. She even picked out her dad's clothes to look like shaggy.

We are back home from a wonderful time in Montana visiting family. It was truly beautiful. We had such a relaxing time. We saw deer and turkeys right in the backyard. The weather was good and the trees were simply beautiful! We went to a pumpkin farm. We enjoyed hiking the hills of Montana. She enjoyed being around boys. Learned a thing or two. She likes bones. (animal bones).

We enjoyed a quiet weekend. We went to some good friends of ours an they gave us 5 new trees. So I spent the rest of today planting them. Now I am tired....

"Mommy, I want Henry to marry me."

Oh, really....

"Like Daddy married you."

You will have to talk to your daddy about that one.

"Daddy, Henry is going to marry me."

???


This little boy...was part of her life for just a short amount of time and he seems to be the one she talks about a lot! We moved away from this little boy almost 1 year ago and he is part of our life almost daily either in conversations, pictures, or toys. She has named her toys that are boys...ALL Henry!

Her daddy...will DEFINATELY have his hands full in the years to come!!!

hello...poison control

So we had the need to call poison control tonight....Yes that is right..I really thought those days were behind us...but nope!

According to a 3 year old...if you can't find your cup in your bathroom for water then you MUST eat Disney Princess TOOTHPASTE. Of course this is the toothpaste that says not to give until you are 6 years old and yes I know she is only 3! I had to tell the nice poison control lady on the phone that my little girl is 3 year old. And please someone tell me..when did they start taking your name and phone number, like they are going to keep this on file FOREVER. So tonight...my mommyhood is truly tested to the max.

I find her now at 9:45 pm in her room with her lights on and have taken her pajamas off. I as her why? "Because I am cold"

baking TOO much..

You know when you bake too much when your 3 year old says "Oh,(all smiles) is that another cake?"

I guess I have been in the baking mood lately. We have had blackberry pie, halloween cookies, chocolate chip granola bars, and now a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. No wonder my jeans feel tighter.

We cleaned all day and hung up pictures. Fun Fun Mondays!!

The Mystery Gang...

This morning she turned to me and said "Mom, I miss my friends" I then thought about her old friends she had and asked her if it was them by naming them off. But she simply replied..."No mom, my GANG!" Huh?? "You know the Scooby-doo gang! Ahhhh...

We have been fascinated with Scooby Doo and the whole gang....Fred, Velma, Daphane, and Shaggy. Every night we can't forget to tell the same scooby doo story (we make it up) If we forget something then she simply reminds us. If we try to mix it up a little then she simply reminds us.

For Halloween she has it ALL planned out! She is going to be Daphane. I will be Velma. Her dad will be Fred and Shaggy (we don't know how that will work out yet) and Sydney is going to be Scooby-Doo. Then she says our wagon can be the mystery van.

She LOVES the GANG right now!!

Chewy Granola Bars...

YUM-O!!! These are AWESOME!!

We had a great day today. Tried a new recipe and can we say YUM-O!!! We made these homemade granola bars and we totally love them! Of course we made them with CHOCOLATE!! (the recipe calls for dried fruit and nuts but I thought that I would try them first with chocolate to make sure we liked them) oh yeah...I also doubled the amount of chocolate!

Here is the recipe:


NO BAKE CHEWY Granola Bar

1/2 C Honey

1/2 C brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla (I used 1 T)

3/4 C Peanut Butter

2 C Oats

2 1/2 C Rice Krispies

1/2 C Dried Fruit (didn't use this time)

1/2 C Chocolate Chips (I used 1 cup) :)

1/4 C Cocunut (didn't use this time)



Combine dry ingredients. Heat honey & sugar to boil. Stir constantly. Turn off heat and add peanut butter and vanilla. Blend until smooth. Pour over oats/rice krispies/chocolate chip mixture. - MIX WELL. Press into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Cool and cut into squares.

welcoming fall....

We are enjoying bringing fall into our house by making Halloween cut out cookies and a "Happy Fall" sign. The cutouts may look a little silly but it we had fun. Throw a little frosting on them and they are GREAT! It truly feels like fall now. This morning woke up to it being foggy outside and very cool. I am excited to bring out the sweaters. (of course I would wear them all year round if I could)

storytime tuesday

There is this wonderful storytime that we like to go to around here in a local library. They have a great story time reader "Blake" he just gets these kids excited to listen and enjoy books. We always have a great time at the library. It was all about Dragons.

This afternoon we enjoyed playing at the park.

HER DOG!!

Sydney is definately HER dog!! Sydney sleeps in HER room, gets dressed up by HER, read books by HER, gets fed by HER and hugged by HER. We often find necklaces on Sydney. Sydney just comes to find me and gives me the look like "could you pleeeaaassseee take this off me" She is such a great dog. Today she had a big blanket over her and was just walking around waiting patiently for it to drop off. We are so blessed to have such a calm, sweet loving dog.

Decided to start this up again. I have enjoyed looking back at the old posts. Time has flown by and I just want to always remember these special days we have. I hope you enjoy them with me.
